They say "smiley face water towers can be found from Atlantic coast towns clear out to the Great Plains. We're not sure why the phenomenon peters out short of the Rockies." 		Special thanks to Tim for taking the time to send me these 2 terrific smiley photos from West Branch, Michigan. The photo above is of Ralph *"Mr. Smiley"* Steinhauser, the wonderful man responsible for the West Branch water tower.
Above is a photo of the "unofficial" City of West Branch police car. Tim says the story behind it is quite funny... " The City Council pulled one over on the local media a couple years ago, claiming they were going to paint smileys on all their police cruisers. But it was just an April Fool's joke! The local newspaper reporter was not too happy. But to show that they are good sports, the police department finally went ahead and did it anyway. The department painted *one* of their *retired* cruisers and they use it for promotional purposes such as parades, etc. It even led the funeral procession for "Mr. Smiley" Ralph Steinauser this past summer."
	Isn't this just the neatest thing? This smiley water tower can be found in Adair, Iowa, which is located along Interstate 80, midway between Omaha, Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa. That must be one of the friendliest towns in the USA! I wonder if there are any smiley collectors in Adair???

This photo was taken by a coworker while on his mission trip to Poland. He was watching for anything with a SMILEY FACE and he found a big one on this billboard. Just in case you don't read Polish, it says "Keep Smiling!" (Thanks Merle!)
